Ighatha al-Lahfan إغاثة اللهفان في مصايد الشيطان

Ighāthat al-Lahfān fī Maṣāʾid al-Shayṭān (إغاثة اللهفان في مصايد الشيطان) by Imam Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (d. 751 AH / 1350 CE) is a major work on spiritual diseases, Satan’s methods of deception, and the means of protecting the heart from his influence. Ibn Qayyim examines the causes and manifestations of spiritual ailments and discusses their treatment through sound belief, worship, and disciplined conduct. The work also addresses subjects such as sincerity, temptation, and legal stratagems (ḥiyal).

Features of the Edition

The Dār al-Minhāj al-Qawīm edition is critically edited against three manuscript copies, with variant readings noted and textual errors corrected. It includes verification of Hadith and reports cited by Ibn Qayyim, references for quotations from earlier scholars, and careful formatting of Qur’anic verses, Hadith, and poetry.
