Muqaddimat al-Tasawwuf wa-Haqiqatuhu wa-Natijatuhu مقدمة التصوف وحقيقته ونتيجته

Muqaddimat al-Tasawwuf wa-Haqiqatuhu wa-Natijatuhu (مقدمة التصوف وحقيقته ونتيجته), which translates to “An Introduction to Sufism: Its Reality and Its Outcome,” is a classical, highly regarded treatise on Islamic spirituality (Tasawwuf / Ihsan).

The book is authored by the renowned traditionalist, jurist, and spiritual master Imam Ahmad Zarruq (died 899 AH / 1493 CE), a prominent Shadhili scholar from Morocco often referred to as the “Regulator of the Scholars and Saints” (Muhtasib al-Ulama wa-al-Awliya).

This text serves as a concise, foundational guide to understanding the true nature of Sufism (Tasawwuf). Imam Zarruq wrote it to define the science of spiritual purification and, crucially, to reconcile Sufi practices with the foundational texts of the Quran and the Sunnah, purging it of any deviations, innovations, or misunderstandings.
