Muhadarat Ilmi: Islam awr Maghrib (Dr. Mahmood Ghazi) محاضرات علمی: اسلام اور مغرب تعلقات
Muhadarat-e Ilmi: Islam aur Maghrib ke Ta‘alluqaat is a collection of twelve writings by Dr. Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi examining different dimensions of the relationship between Islam and the West. The original edition, published during Dr. Ghazi’s lifetime, contained six articles; this expanded edition adds six more pieces drawn posthumously from his other writings and talks, creating a broader and more comprehensive study of this important subject.
Together, these essays explore the concept of the global Muslim Ummah, the influence of Islamic civilization on Europe, and the historical and contemporary state of relations between Islam and the West. The collection also addresses interfaith dialogue, the importance of inter-civilizational dialogue for world peace, the intellectual and civilizational challenge posed by the modern West, and the responsibilities of Muslim scholars in responding to these challenges.
Additional discussions include the “clash of civilizations,” the emerging world order and the responsibilities of the Muslim Ummah, perspectives on Christianity, and Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s critique of Western civilization. Drawing on his deep understanding of both Islamic and Western intellectual traditions, Dr. Ghazi offers a thoughtful and balanced framework for understanding one of the defining issues of the modern age.
