Hidayat al-Insan fi al-Istighna' bi-al-Quran (2 Volume Set) هداية الإنسان في الإستغناء بالقرآن
Hidayat al-Insan fi al-Istighna' bi-al-Quran (هداية الإنسان في الاستغناء بالقرآن) is a classic treatise by the renowned Hanbali scholar Ibn al-Mabrad (d. 909 AH) on finding true sufficiency through the Quran. Drawing upon Quranic verses, hadiths, and the teachings of the early scholars, the author demonstrates that the Book of Allah is the believer's ultimate source of guidance, healing, wisdom, and spiritual contentment.
The work is based on the earlier treatise Al-Istighna' bi-al-Quran fi Talab al-'Ilm wa al-Iman by the eminent Hanbali scholar Imam Ibn Rajab. Ibn al-Mabrad reorganized the material into one hundred concise chapters, supplemented it with hadith references, and arranged it into a practical guide for developing a lifelong relationship with the Quran.
Its chapters explain the proper etiquette of engaging with the Quran, how it should be understood and implemented, and the immense virtues promised to those who recite, study, and live by its teachings. The book also includes warnings against neglecting the Book of Allah, emphasizing the spiritual consequences of turning away from divine guidance.
Combining sound scholarship with practical spiritual instruction, Ibn al-Mabrad presents the Quran as the foundation of faith, worship, character, and daily life. Written in a clear and accessible style, this concise work reflects the classical Sunni understanding of the Quran as a living source of guidance, mercy, healing, and lasting spiritual enrichment.
