This book aims to accurately introduce Islam to Muslims and non-Muslims both, particularly in wake of the recent world events. The author is an al-Azhar (Egypt) trained scholar, who received his doctorate from Cambridge University. T. J. Winter (Abdul-Hakim Murad) translated the text. English only.

This book is written about Islam from within. It seeks to show something of the true nature of the faith, thereby challenging the accepted stereotypes which so badly compromise the present dialogue of civilizations. By explaining the significance of the formal practices and doctrines of the Islamic religion, it endeavors to build a bridge over what must be the deepest yet most irrational gulf ever to have cleaved apart two cultures.
