Translation of Dil ki dunya, an important treatise on Sufism by the late Mufti of Pakistan.
An interesting collection of traditions dealing with the diet and eating practices of Prophet Muhammad, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam.
In describing al-Wabil al-Sayyib, the author says, ‘We have mentioned [in it] nearly one hundred benefits of remembrance of God [dhikr], and the secrets of remembrance...This is a book of great usefulness.’
Written in the fourteenth century by the renowned theologian Imam Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya, this treatise movingly details the many blessings of the remembrance of Allah.
This beautifully written work is a genuine contribution to Muslim spirituality. What makes it of great interest is that it illustrates the spiritual life of Ibn Qayyim and of his teacher, the Hanbalite reformer Imam Ibn Taymiyya (1263AH/1328AD).
Imam Abdur Rahman ibn al-Jawzi creates an awakening in his readers by pointing out these ill effects. He says that the root of sins lies in arrognace, greed and jealousy.
Among the effects of sins is a diminished ability to do pious deeds and a reduced inclination to remember Allah.
This is a unique book on this subject.
