Shaykh Zayn al-Deen was a prominent Hanafi jurist from Turkey who lived in the 10th century after Hijrah. Juz' 'Amma, the thirtieth and last section of the Qur'an, is probably the most widely read and memorized of all the parts of the Qur'an. It is studied by Muslim children and by new Muslims, containing as it does, many short chapters which are easy to commit to memory. That said, it is also true that many of those who commit these verses to memory have little or no idea of their meaning and importance.
Each ayah is recited with expert precision followed by a pause that gives the listener an opportunity to repeat the ayah. He must finish repetetion before the qari begins the next ayah. This way the student learns proper pronunciation and timing of recitation as well as memorization ---- a classical proven method.
Shaykh Meshary Rashid al-Afasy is teaching these students who repeat after him. The interactive environment is conducive to fast learning. Each verse is recited with expert precision followed by a chorus of children repeating it. From time to time the Qari will stop and correct the children in verses where most make mistakes. The children will learn proper pronounciation and timing while memorizing Juz Amma with ease.
